Here is what each class looks like, how the times fit around school, and a simple way to plan the week.
What counts as "the Valley"
The Los Angeles Times' Mapping L.A. project describes the San Fernando Valley as "a region of Los Angeles County containing 34 neighborhoods," including Burbank, North Hollywood, Van Nuys, Encino, Panorama City, Winnetka, Porter Ranch and Pacoima.

Fitting it around school
The math program starts at 3 PM and the cooking class at 4 PM. Before you book, check your school's dismissal time and how long the drive takes at that hour, so your child arrives calm instead of rushed.
One way to plan the week
One or two regular activities is plenty for most families, with at least one afternoon left free. Pediatricians note that tightly structured family and school schedules are one reason children get less time to play (HealthyChildren.org, American Academy of Pediatrics). A simple pattern mixes a hands-on class, a learning one and a moving one:
- Monday: math at 3 PM in Van Nuys.
- Wednesday: cooking at 4 PM in North Hollywood. The math program also runs Wednesday at 3 PM, in a different place, so pick one for that day.
- An active option: martial arts in Burbank on Monday or Wednesday at 6 PM, for ages 6 to 12.
- Keep the other days free for homework, play and rest.

How booking works on ORYN Quest
ORYN Quest is a marketplace where families book kids' activities run by independent local vendors in Southern California. ORYN does not run the activities.
On Explore you can filter by your child's age and by credit cost, sort by distance from you, or switch to the map. Every activity shows its credit cost before you book. Open a listing, pick a session and your child, then tap Confirm. See how plans and credits work.
Lanti, our assistant, can help by typing or by voice. Try "find a cooking class for my 6-year-old in Los Angeles", then open the listing to pick a session.
