MUSYCA Children's Choir
About
Founded in 2010, MUSYCA has become California's leading performing arts organization for youth, which appeared at the world's top venues, performed in Film and on TV and collaborated with America's preeminent artists and composers. MUSYCA students receive professional training in vocal production and performance techniques, study music theory, acquire skills in aural perception and sight-singing, and learn and perform a varied repertoire of songs. Our curriculum is deeply rooted in classical music, and the children are expertly trained to develop different models of the choral sound for specific historical music periods and musical styles within these periods. Our diverse repertoire includes classical music, contemporary choral works, art songs, folk songs, popular music, and jazz. We specialize in teaching the bel canto (beautiful singing) vocal style. Our faculty members have Doctoral degrees in music performance and music education and are highly qualified to teach.
