Trust & Safety Policy
Version 1.0 — Last updated July 18, 2026
This Trust & Safety Policy ("Policy") describes the safety systems, moderation practices, reporting channels, and enforcement framework that ORYN Quest, Inc. ("ORYN Quest," "Company," "we," "our," "us") operates on the ORYN Quest platform, including its websites, mobile applications, messaging systems, community features, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
This Policy works together with the Terms of Use, the Parent & Guardian Terms and Conditions, the Vendor Agreement, the Child Safety Policy, the Community Guidelines, the Vendor Code of Conduct, the Parent Code of Conduct, and the Acceptable Use Policy. If this Policy conflicts with the Terms of Use or the Parent & Guardian Terms and Conditions, those documents control. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the Parent & Guardian Terms and Conditions.
IF A CHILD IS IN IMMEDIATE DANGER, OR ANY EMERGENCY IS OCCURRING, CALL 911 (OR YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY NUMBER) FIRST. THE PLATFORM IS NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE AND IS NOT MONITORED IN REAL TIME FOR EMERGENCIES. CONTACT ORYN QUEST ONLY AFTER EMERGENCY RESPONDERS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED.
ARTICLE 1 — PURPOSE AND SCOPE
1.1 Purpose
ORYN Quest is a marketplace where Parents and Guardians discover and book children's Activities offered by independent Vendors. Families trust the Platform with decisions about their children, and that trust must be earned with real, operating safeguards — not slogans. This Policy explains, honestly and specifically, what safety systems exist on the Platform today, what those systems do and do not do, and how ORYN Quest enforces its rules.
1.2 Scope
This Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including Parents, Guardians, Vendors, Vendor staff interacting through Vendor Accounts, and visitors, and to all Platform surfaces, including listings, profiles, Bookings, in-Platform messaging, reviews and ratings, community feeds and groups, AI features, and the kid-facing ORYN Play area.
1.3 A Shared Responsibility
No marketplace can eliminate risk, and ORYN Quest does not promise that any Vendor, Activity, or user is safe. Safety on and around the Platform is shared among ORYN Quest (which operates the systems described in this Policy), Vendors (who are solely responsible for the safety of their own premises, staff, and Activities), and Parents and Guardians (who select Activities, supervise their children outside Activity sessions, and evaluate Vendors using their own judgment).
ARTICLE 2 — OUR ROLE — AND ITS HONEST LIMITS
2.1 Marketplace, Not Provider
ORYN Quest is a technology marketplace. ORYN Quest does not operate Activities, does not employ Vendor staff, does not supervise children, does not take custody of children, and is not a childcare provider, school, camp operator, or medical or emergency service. Vendors are independent businesses solely responsible for the conduct and safety of their Activities.
2.2 What Vendor Review Includes
Before a Vendor may list Activities, the Vendor must apply and be approved by ORYN Quest. Our approval review verifies business information — such as the Vendor's identity, business details, and the completeness and plausibility of the proposed listings — and screens listing content for compliance with our policies.
2.3 What Vendor Review Does NOT Include
To be clear and honest about the limits of our review:
- (a) ORYN Quest does NOT run criminal background checks on Vendors or Vendor staff;
- (b) ORYN Quest does NOT independently verify professional certifications, licenses, degrees, or credentials that Vendors state in their profiles or listings;
- (c) ORYN Quest does NOT independently verify insurance coverage that Vendors self-report; and
- (d) ORYN Quest does NOT independently verify accommodation or accessibility capabilities that Vendors describe.
Vendor statements about credentials, insurance, and accommodations are self-attestations by the Vendor. Parents should independently confirm any credential, coverage, or capability that matters to their decision, and should ask Vendors directly about background-check and staff-screening practices. ORYN Quest reserves the right to introduce additional screening measures (including identity or background screening) in the future and will update this Policy if it does.
2.4 What We Rely on Instead
The Platform's ongoing safety signals come from: business-information review at approval; listing content review; community signals (ratings, reviews, and reports); automated quality monitoring (Article 3); automated and human message moderation (Article 4); community content moderation (Article 5); and the enforcement powers described in Article 9, up to and including permanent removal.
ARTICLE 3 — VENDOR LIFECYCLE, PROBATION, AND SUSPENSION
3.1 Vendor Statuses
Every Vendor account has a lifecycle status: pending (application under review), approved (may list and accept Bookings), probation (restricted status under heightened review), suspended (removed from active participation), or rejected. ORYN Quest may move a Vendor between statuses at its discretion consistent with the Vendor Agreement.
3.2 Automated Quality Monitoring
The Platform runs an automated daily quality check on Vendor ratings:
- (a) an approved Vendor whose average parent rating falls below 4.0 stars is automatically placed on probation; and
- (b) a Vendor on probation whose average rating recovers above 4.0 stars may be automatically restored to approved status.
Probation is a signal for heightened review, not a public shaming mechanism; it exists so that declining quality is caught by a system rather than by chance.
3.3 Discretionary Probation and Suspension
Independent of automated monitoring, ORYN Quest may place a Vendor on probation or suspend a Vendor at any time for policy violations, safety reports, moderation findings, unresolved complaints, fraudulent conduct, or any conduct described in the Vendor Agreement, the Vendor Code of Conduct, or the Child Safety Policy.
3.4 Effect on Existing Bookings
When a Vendor is suspended or removed, affected Bookings are handled under the Subscription, Membership, Credits, Refund, and Cancellation Policy ("Refund Policy"), including Credit restoration where that policy provides for it.
ARTICLE 4 — MESSAGING SAFETY AND MODERATION
4.1 In-Platform Messaging
Parents and Vendors communicate through in-Platform messaging. Keeping communications on the Platform matters for safety: it creates a record that can be reviewed if something goes wrong, and it allows the automated safeguards described in this Article to operate. Users should not move Platform-related conversations to outside channels.
4.2 Automated Message Screening
Every message sent through Platform messaging passes through automated content screening before or immediately after delivery:
- (a) OFFENSIVE AND ABUSIVE CONTENT — BLOCKED. Messages containing slurs, hate speech, explicit threats of violence, or self-harm incitement are blocked and are not delivered. The sender is shown a notice that the message could not be sent.
- (b) OFF-PLATFORM PAYMENT AND PRICE STEERING — FLAGGED. Messages that appear to quote real-currency prices, solicit cash or third-party payment-app payments, or steer bookings or payments off the Platform are delivered but the sender receives an inline warning, and the message is flagged for human review in the admin moderation queue.
- (c) CONTACT-INFORMATION STEERING — FLAGGED. Messages that appear to share phone numbers, email addresses, or outside messaging handles in order to move the conversation off the Platform are likewise delivered with a warning to the sender and flagged for human review.
4.3 AI-Assisted Second Review
Where the first-pass screening detects a soft signal it is not confident enough to act on (for example, obfuscated wording), the message may be routed to an additional AI-assisted classification pass that can flag it for human review. This second pass is designed to fail open: an outage of the AI system never blocks or deletes a legitimate message.
4.4 Human Review
Flagged messages appear in an administrative moderation queue that shows reviewers the flagged content and repeat-flag patterns per sender. Administrators review flags and take enforcement action under Article 9 where warranted.
4.5 Vendor Cold-Message Restrictions
Vendors are restricted from sending unsolicited first-contact messages to Parents with whom they have no booking relationship. This reduces spam and protects families from unwanted solicitation.
4.6 Limits of Moderation
Automated moderation is a safeguard, not a guarantee. No screening system catches every harmful message, and screening systems occasionally warn on legitimate messages. ORYN Quest does not promise that Platform messaging is free of policy-violating content, and users should report concerning messages under Article 8 rather than assume they have already been seen.
ARTICLE 5 — COMMUNITY MODERATION
5.1 Moderated Surfaces
The Community Guidelines apply to community feed posts and comments, community groups, reviews and ratings, profiles and listings, direct messages, and interactions with the ORYN Quest AI assistant.
5.2 Content Removal and Sanctions
ORYN Quest may remove or restrict content that violates the Community Guidelines, this Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy, or Applicable Law, and may do so without prior notice where necessary to protect children, prevent harm, or comply with legal obligations. Graduated sanctions, appeal rights, and the mandatory-reporting rules for conduct concerning children are set out in the Community Guidelines and the Child Safety Policy and apply as written there.
ARTICLE 6 — KID ZONE PROTECTIONS (ORYN PLAY)
6.1 The Pledge
The ORYN Play area of the Platform (the /play pages, including games and ORYN Town) is built for children to look at and play in — and is therefore built to collect nothing:
- (a) no child accounts exist anywhere on the Platform, and ORYN Play requires no account, sign-in, or registration;
- (b) no advertising is shown in ORYN Play;
- (c) no analytics, behavioral tracking, or tracking cookies operate in ORYN Play, and our error-monitoring tooling is disabled for sessions in the kid zone;
- (d) game progress is stored only in the local storage of the device being used and is not transmitted to ORYN Quest.
6.2 Vendor Presence in ORYN Town
ORYN Town displays Vendor business names (and a city line) on town buildings. Vendor doors open ORYN Quest's own games — not Vendor content. The only link from the kid zone to a Vendor page sits behind a grown-up gate that requires a deliberate press-and-hold confirmation designed for adult use. Vendor placement in ORYN Town is never sold or paid for.
ARTICLE 7 — WAIVERS AND BOOKING SAFEGUARDS
7.1 Waiver Enforcement Before Booking
Vendors may require liability waivers for their Activities. Where a Vendor requires a waiver, the Platform enforces it at booking time: a Booking cannot be completed until the required waiver version has been signed for the Parent or for the specific Child, as the Vendor requires. Signatures are recorded against the specific waiver version signed, and waiver history is retained.
7.2 Booking Records
The Platform maintains records of Bookings, cancellations, attendance, credit transactions, and waiver signatures. These records support the investigation and dispute processes described in the Dispute Resolution Procedures.
7.3 Accommodation and Health Information
Parents may provide accommodation requests and health, behavioral, and accessibility information in Child profiles for the purpose of helping Vendors prepare. Conveying this information to Vendors does not make ORYN Quest a medical or care provider, and Vendors decide whether they can reasonably provide requested accommodations. See the Emergency & Medical Disclaimer and the Child Safety Policy.
ARTICLE 8 — REPORTING CHANNELS
8.1 Emergencies First
If a child is in immediate danger or any emergency is occurring, call 911 or your local emergency number first. Reporting to ORYN Quest is never a substitute for contacting emergency services, and reporting through the Platform does not satisfy any legal obligation to notify law enforcement or comply with mandatory reporting laws.
8.2 How to Report
To report a safety concern, policy violation, or suspicious behavior to ORYN Quest:
- (a) use the in-app report tools available on listings, profiles, messages, reviews, and community posts; or
- (b) email support@orynquest.com — include "SAFETY" in the subject line for safety concerns.
8.3 What to Include
Reports are most actionable when they include: the Vendor, listing, user, or content involved; the date, time, and location; the people involved; a description of what happened; and any screenshots or supporting details.
8.4 How Reports Are Handled
We review reports and prioritize those involving potential harm to a child. We may contact the reporter for additional information. Reports are handled as confidentially as reasonably possible; where appropriate, information from a report may be shared with the Vendor or user involved, with law enforcement, or with child protective agencies. Review timing depends on volume and severity; we aim to review safety reports promptly, but review times are operational targets, not guarantees.
ARTICLE 9 — ENFORCEMENT FRAMEWORK
9.1 Graduated Enforcement Matrix
Depending on the nature, severity, and repetition of a violation, ORYN Quest may apply one or more of the following measures, generally in escalating order:
- (a) a written warning;
- (b) removal of the violating content (listings, reviews, posts, messages, or profile content);
- (c) temporary restriction of specific features (such as messaging, community posting, or reviews);
- (d) for Vendors, placement on probation with heightened review;
- (e) temporary account suspension; and
- (f) permanent account termination and removal from the Platform.
9.2 Immediate Action for Child Endangerment
Graduated enforcement does not apply to conduct that endangers a child. Conduct described in the prohibited-conduct provisions of the Child Safety Policy — including abuse, exploitation, grooming, inappropriate contact with a minor, or knowingly placing a child in an unsafe environment — results in immediate removal from the Platform without prior warning, and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
9.3 Enforcement Discretion
ORYN Quest may skip enforcement steps, combine measures, or apply immediate suspension or termination for serious violations, including threats, harassment, discrimination, fraud, illegal activity, or repeated off-platform payment circumvention. Enforcement decisions are made at ORYN Quest's discretion, consistent with the Terms of Use and the applicable governing agreements, and do not limit any other rights or remedies available to ORYN Quest.
9.4 Effect on Bookings and Credits
Enforcement actions do not, by themselves, entitle a user to a refund. Refund and Credit consequences of an enforcement action are governed by the Refund Policy.
9.5 Appeals
A user who believes an enforcement action was taken in error may appeal by contacting support@orynquest.com within 14 days of the action, as described in the Community Guidelines. We review appeals in good faith and respond with a final decision. Enforcement decisions involving child safety are not eligible for reinstatement appeals.
ARTICLE 10 — LAW ENFORCEMENT COOPERATION
10.1 Cooperation
ORYN Quest cooperates with law enforcement and child protective agencies. This may include:
- (a) preserving and sharing relevant account records, messages, Booking records, and moderation records as permitted or required by law;
- (b) responding to lawful subpoenas, court orders, and official requests; and
- (c) reporting suspected child abuse or exploitation to appropriate authorities.
10.2 Preservation
ORYN Quest may place litigation or investigation holds on records relevant to a safety incident, dispute, or legal process, and may retain such records beyond ordinary retention periods as described in the Privacy Policy.
10.3 Vendor Reporting Duties
Vendors' obligations to report allegations of abuse, staff charges or convictions involving children, and incidents requiring emergency services are set out in the Child Safety Policy. Failure to report is itself a violation subject to enforcement under Article 9.
ARTICLE 11 — NO RETALIATION; GOOD-FAITH REPORTS
11.1 No Retaliation
ORYN Quest prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports a safety concern or policy violation in good faith. Retaliation — including negative treatment of a family by a Vendor, or harassment of a reporter — is itself a violation of this Policy and is subject to enforcement under Article 9.
11.2 False Reports
Knowingly false or malicious reports waste the review capacity that real safety reports depend on and are themselves a violation of this Policy and the Community Guidelines.
ARTICLE 12 — CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. For material changes, we will provide notice through the Platform or by email, and where our consent framework requires it, prompt for re-acceptance. Continued use of the Platform after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
